OUR PROUD HISTORY

A prior LGBTQ group, Algoma Pride, was established in the early 1980's seeing a need for a safe place where dances and gatherings were held to bring its members together.  This original organization continually grew momentum and growth in community members and allies.  With this growth, a larger, more formalized community organization was created now known as Sault Pride.  In 2014, Sault Ste. Marie held its first annual "Pridefest".
